Terms and Conditions

General Conditions

1. Our delivery conditions and terms of payment apply to all written, telephonic, and electronic orders and are recognized with each order. The terms apply to all sales transactions expressly as agreed upon.
2. The conditions in the contract take effect as soon as we start processing the order in preparation for shipping.
3. We retain ownership of all delivered merchandise until payment is complete.
4. All prices are listed in Euros. The prices in effect are the ones listed at the time of ordering.
5. By placing an order, the customer formally acknowledges these terms and conditions. Exceptions are possible only when agreed upon in writing.

Change of Address

It is the customer’s responsibility to provide a correct address when ordering. Additional costs arising from an incorrectly provided address will be at the customer’s expense.

Used Books

1. All offered books are in good condition, with no written comments and/or underlining. It’s possible however for names or dedications to be written on book covers, this however would not be mentioned in the book’s description.
2. In case of a worse condition than specified above in point #1, then it would additionally be noted.
3. The quoted prices are relative to the condition.
4. Often we have only a single item in stock and therefore we cannot predict when it would be available again.

Book Price Control

1. In German-speaking countries, we are subject to a book price control (only a few books are exempt). This price control applies to all German books, newspapers, and magazines. The retail price is determined by the respective publisher.
2. The book price control does not apply, however, to books in languages other than German.

Books from foreign countries

Imported books from outside the German-speaking region, could easily suffer shipping related damage, it is also possible that they may not meet the quality-standards expected in the German-speaking region.

Countries to which we deliver

1. At present we give priority to orders within Austria (S&H from 3.90 Euros).
2. But we also deliver to Germany (S&H from 3.90 Euros), Switzerland (S&H 12.00 Euros), and other EU countries (S&H 12.00 Euros).
3. Customs duties can occur for shipments outside of the EU, for which the customer is responsible.

Delivery time

We will process your order as quickly as possible. As a rule, your order will ship within 1-4 business days. Estimates on delivery time are not binding.

Quantity discount

Unfortunately, we cannot offer a quantity discount (exceptions are specifically indicated). We calculate the same prices for all of our customers.

Value Added Tax (VAT)

All prices quoted include the legally required VAT.

Return policy

1. 1. You can return all items purchased from us within 14 days without explanation and promptly receive a refund of the purchase price, provided that the merchandise is found in unused condition. Shrink-wrapped or sealed media (audiocassettes, CDs, DVDs, software, videos) will only be accepted for return if in the original shrink-wrap or with an undamaged seal, respectively.
2. We cannot take back books or other products that show signs of use.
3. The costs of a return shipment are at the customer’s expense. A return shipment is only possible when sent in the original packaging, with sufficient postage and with the enclosure of the packing sheet or invoice.

Security guarantee

Our server security software encodes your entire personal data, such as credit card number, bank code number, bank account number, name, and address. This information is not accessible for unauthorized individuals when transmitted over the Internet.
Sensitive data should not be communicated by E-mail.

Processing and use of our customers’ personal information

1. 1. The Provided information helps us to construct and continually update your customized purchase preferences at adventistbookcenter.at. We use the information for the processing of your orders, the deliveries of merchandise and the furnishing of services, as well as for the completion of payment. Furthermore, we use your information to interact with you concerning orders, products, services, and offers, and to always keep our records as up-to-date as possible. Similarly, with your provided information we keep and maintain your adventistbookcenter.at customer account and use its data in order to display subject matter such as customer reviews, wish lists and to recommend products or services to you that might interest you. Moreover, we also use your information to improve our shop and Internet appearance, to prevent or detect misuse of our website, or to facilitate the implementation of technical, logistic, or other services in our contract. 2. If it is your express desire that your personal data be erased immediately following the completion of the business transaction, please notify us by E-Mail. In doing so, please do not forget to provide your exact name and mailing address.

Shipping damages

If, in spite of our special packaging, damages occur during shipping, please contact the carrier. Then claims can promptly be made with us for the delivery of a replacement.

Packaging

We use only high-quality packaging material that protects the merchandise from damage on its way to you.

Shipping and handling

1. 1. We charge a flat rate for shipping and handling, regardless of the size and weight of your package. Therefore, it is worthwhile to order several products at once.

   by Hermes 3.90 Euros
   for Austria
   by Post 3.90 Euros
   by Hermes 3.90 Euros
   for EU countries
   from 12.00 Euros
   for Switzerland
   12.00 Euros
   for all other countries, cost is available on inquiry
3. Shipping and handling costs do not apply when the customer picks up the merchandise personally.

Availability

1. We generally offer only products that we actually have in stock.
2. Should a product, however, not be in stock for a short time, we will try to forward it as quickly as possible. In the case of such a delivery the same method of payment applies as for the main shipment, however, no additional postage will be charged to the purchaser.

Method of shipment

We select the seemingly most suitable shipment method for us (by mail, parcel service, customer pick-up). The merchandise is shipped at the purchaser’s risk and expense. Depending on the type of shipment, however, insurance may be included.

Possible methods of payment

1. Direct banking
   The Online bank transfer without registration. Available goods are delivered immediately.
2. Debit transaction (not yet activated at this time; possible only in Germany and Austria)
   We are obliged to collect only the sums due at the date stipulated in the authorization procedure of the automatic banking system. Potential expenses incurred when the debit transactions fail to be completed will be charged to the customer.
3. Advance payment
   Following a completed order, you will receive a bill from us by E-mail. There you will find our bank account details and the final total. Shipping follows receipt of payment.
4. Credit card
   We accept VISA and MasterCard/EuroCard.
5. Cash payment
   If the merchandise is to be personally picked up, we request cash payment, provided that another method of payment has not already been chosen.
6. PayPal
   It is also possible to pay via PayPal.
