Pfandl has lived and worked for the Adventist church in three continents and is currently an Associate Director of the Biblical Research Institute at the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists.
The essays, twenty-three in English and four in German, concentrate on the three areas of Pfandl’s special interests: Old Testament, apocalyptic literature and prophecy, and the writings of Ellen G. White. The vast breadth of scope—from exegesis to spirituality, from Daniel to Revelation, >from Adventist theology to Adventists and the Islam—will be of interest to scholars, pastors, and lay members as well.
